Chapter eleven

Makenzie

Pulling up into my driveway, I glance next door. Noticing, not only is one car parked in Gabriel’s driveway, but another two as well. Parked in the open garage is a fucking Ferrari. Crimson red and calling my name. The absolute dream car. Parked behind it, I notice it’s the black BMW, Gabriel got out of yesterday. Then there’s a black and silver Range Rover parked behind. Three cars all parked in a perfectly straight line. Halley sees me checking out the cars and gives a little shake of her head.

“That’s Emmett’s Range Rover, you’ll be seeing a lot of him here. Although they also hang out quite a bit over at their club house. Never been there, guys only code and all that rubbish.” Halley blurts.

Averting my eyes to the house, only darkness greets me, the blinds drawn, and giving me the creeps.

“Thanks for the daily report, I’ll see you in the morning.” I lean over and kiss her cheek.

“Bye Kenz, and don’t let the big bad wolves eat you alive.” She giggles.

“Gee thanks, way to make me feel better.” I wave as she pulls off.

My gaze gets drawn back to the house, I listen carefully for any sign of life but, only silence greets me.

If it weren’t for all the cars, I’d say no-one was home, but that’s clearly not the case.

I’m just about to look away and turn to my house, when movement catches my eye, coming from the top floor. The same room as yesterday, I guess.

Glancing up, I suck in a large gulp of air, there in the window stands Gabriel, confidence leaking out of him. No intention of hiding his stare, never taking his eyes off me.

Those eyes, glaring daggers my way. The depth in the silver, tugging at me. Playing tug of war.

He’s the enemy. Never forget.

He does not know me and has no right to be glaring at me that way. As if I’m his next victim.

He obviously notices the look of confusion on my face, because the next minute, he gives me that knowing smirk, almost as though proud of himself for something.

Well you know what? fuck him and his stupid smirk.

I turn in the direction of my house and moving in lightning speed as I reach my front door. Just as I’m about to go inside though, I put on a smirk of my own, masking the irritation on my face.

I’ve been practicing my evil looks in the mirror for years now, not that it’s done me any good in the past.

Keeping my smirk in place, I turn and glare directly back at him. Flipping him off along with a mouthed, Fuck. You.

His sexy smirk is still in place and it feels like we are in some smirking challenge, until he winks and blows me a kiss, causing me to gasp. Turning back, I go inside putting effort into slamming my door.

Eat that, ass wipe. At the same time, my hearts beating a hundred miles an hour.

Smiling to myself
